Re: Religion: What Were You Raised As?
1. I was raised as a Catholic Christian. My whole family is Catholic.
2. I'm still a Catholic Christian. I've challenged my faith in the past and have never been able to find any other faith (Christian or otherwise) that fit my beliefs so well. I feel empty without my faith. At home, I'm a devout church-goer and I help out with a lot of things (set up for various events, babysitting, teaching, VBS/Faith Camp). Unfortunately, when I'm at school, I don't really go to church that much. Often times, because of my lack of sleep during the week, I use Sunday mornings to catch up. When I do go to church, it's not nearly as comfortable as being at my home church; the people aren't quite as pleasant as my church back home, and it makes it hard to go. |
Re: Religion: What Were You Raised As?
1. I was raised as a Christian, although we stopped attending church.
2. I am confused as to what I believe. I believe there is a God, but unsure on his role in our world. And the only thing I practice is prayer. |
Re: Religion: What Were You Raised As?
My family are not religious and I was not sent to a religious school but I was baptised as a Prostenant and I went to church up to the age of 7. My next door neighbour was very religious and she took me to church with her, I always believed in God. Then we moved house and no one took me to church anymore.
Then I got older and started thinking about religion for myself. I am now an agnostic. I am studying A level religious education so I am learning about other religions and looking for one that fits what I feel. |
Re: Religion: What Were You Raised As?
1. I was raised Roman Catholic, but not for very long. I was baptized and sent to Catholic school until about grade 2. Around the time my mother's friends started saying they'd been molested by priests when they were younger, my mom lost faith in the Church and we stopped going. My mom still believed in God (I think), but she didn't bring us up at all religiously. We stopped going to Catholic school for two reasons: a) we moved and the new school wouldn't allow us to register because my mom had gone through a nasty separation and my father had our baptism certificates and b) she decided not to fight that, as the previous school we'd gone to mistreated me for being left handed, despite her objections.
2. I'm a Satanist. I don't believe there is a God, I don't believe there's an afterlife. I still enjoy learning about religions, living and dead, but I don't believe in anything. I believe this life is all we have, and that we should thus enjoy it as much as possible. |
Re: Religion: What Were You Raised As?
I suppose I was brought up as an Atheist, and I still hold that view to this day.

Re: Religion: What Were You Raised As?
I was raised atheist, or rather I wasn't raised under any religion, but my parents both encouraged me to educate myself about religion and to find a set of beliefs - religious or otherwise - that I felt suited me and my life.
Unsurprisingly, I'm now (still, really) a devout atheist. |
Re: Religion: What Were You Raised As?
I was raised as Catholic, in a very religious family.
Now, I don't really believe in anything, as such. But I'm still keeping an open mind. |
