Last time I checked, Christianity doesn't cost thousands and thousands of dollars though.

It used to though. Well pounds since the USA wasn't around then :bleh:

But the point is Scientology could (although I don't think it will) move on past such a thing

Yes, but the level that the CoS takes it is extreme. Plus the way they run the Sea Org is ridiculous.

There's a "religion" for everything lately. People make up religions to suit themselves these days. It's a scam.

The guy who invented it didn't even want it to be a religion. People just changed it so it could it could get tax breaks

If it's a religion, then it's a cult. You said so before about Christianity. It's also a scam, as the creator (forget his name) did not actually believe in it, and it costs a shitload of money.

I wouldn't be so worried about it being a scam so much as a health hazard to anyone who gets involved -- not to mention, a financial hell hole. Anyone check that link I left here a month or so ago? I may have said it before, but that's all the proof I need that the whole affair is crazy.
