Queen Elizabeth II has passed away this afternoon. She was 96 and the longest serving monarch in the history of Britain, having been on the throne for over 70 years.
This is a very sad day. even for people who aren't necessarily fans of the monarchy, it's a massive loss and a huge change for this country. The Queen is such an iconic and well known figure across the world, but more importantly she is also a mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, and my thoughts are with her family tonight.

Honestly I thought she'd be immortal at this point Long live the Queen!
Do you ever get a little bit tired of life
Like you're not really happy but you don't wanna die
Like you're hanging by a thread but you gotta survive
'Cause you gotta survive

Same. The Queen was just one of those people who was always around and it was easy to think that she would continue to always be around. Such sad news.

It's very sad, and a major loss for everyone, she was a massive public figure in many peoples lives, and when you think about it probably the only 96 year old to have worked until the day she died.. she lead the country through lots upheaval, remained a positive light throughout the pandemic. Rest well queenie, the country will be in safe hands under our new king.
