Re: Covid Vaccine for ages 5-11 -

Awesome. This is less relevant now, but this is a thought I had a while ago. I'm no epidemiologist or anything like that, but if we know the vaccine works for 12 year olds, what was stopping us from waiting like a month and sliding the age down to 11, and so on? I feel like they could've got a lot more younger people vaccinated this way.

So happy to hear! I'll be working a vaccine clinic this weekend.

I like your idea, but children aren't like little adults. The dose that children are getting is smaller than that of an adult, so they likely had to do clinical trials to make sure they get the dose right. Since their bodies are different they also probably wanted to study it long enough to make sure they don't have side effects. For example, you may have heard of myocarditis with the vaccine, but it was found that the risk of getting it is worse with Covid. Since children's bodies are so different than adults', it's better to be safe than sorry!

Like you're hanging by a thread but you gotta survive

Why is this such great news? COVID is not deadly enough in children to even rank among the list of major threats to children's health. At this point, people (especially those on the political left) have an unhealthy obsession with one virus. Their fear is destroying the world.
Heck, why is it even news at all? Few people care who gets the flu shot. This is literally like that since kids die from covid at about the same rate as the flu. Why does anyone care?
