Sir David Amess
Some of you may be aware of what has happened in the UK over the last few days. Some of you may not... for those who are not aware, Southend on Sea in Essex England on Friday the 15th October was the latest area in the UK to become the epicentre of a terror attack.
Sir David Amess was a local MP (member of parliament) and on Friday he was the victim of a stabbing attack, which was fatal, it has now been declared as a terror attack. I had met him a few times, and he was always interested in charity work etc and what could be done to improve the area, he cared about the people in his area. Since Friday news teams have flooded to the area reporting on it all, borris Johnson and pritti Patel have been and paid their respects laying down flowers etc, |
Re: Sir David Amess
I did hear about this and it is really sad. My thoughts go out to his family, friends and to all those involved.

Re: Sir David Amess
I was just reading up on this and it's awful what happened. I don't understand why there was no security detail with the MP while he was meeting with the general public. It looks like they are discussing enforcing security during meetings between MPs and the public, which is really good.
I didn't realize Southend was not a city. I wonder how being a city will change law enforcement and security there? |
Re: Sir David Amess
I read about this too. MPs from my experience don't really have security. My local MP is always out meeting people and I've met her tonnes of times. It's just a shame that there are people out there willing to hurt people like this. I feel for his friends and family.
