21st Birthday Outfit Help!

Hey guys :)

It is my 21st in just over a month and we have planned for a meal with my boyfriend and my family. We are going to quite a nice restaurant but it's nothing too posh. Everyone is getting dressed up nice though.

I have been stuck in a rut with clothes recently and I am always pretty safe with dresses so I want something a bit different so I have decided I would like a maxi dress/ skirt or a dipped hem dress/ skirt since I don't own either of these at the moment.
When it comes to maxi dresses/skirts I am 5ft 8 so I sometimes struggle to find them long enough to wear with heels.

So far I have found a few different options and I would just like some opinions on what people like and ideas of what would go well with the skirts.

I'm about the same height as you and also struggle with maxi dresses. They always fall at that awkward "just a touch above my ankles so you look kind of Amish" length.

I think the pink topshop skirt and the forever21 surplice back dress are my favorites of the two look. I'm leaning more towards the dress since it seems a little more dressy, but also fun (you're turning 21 woohoo!) and sexy. I actually liked the newlook coral skirt, but it seemed way more everyday to me rather than "I'm going out and celebrating!" I'm iffy on the newlook turquoise dress, but I wouldn't necessarily rule it out. I didn't like the newlook mint dress; something about it seemed a little awkward to me. I'm not a fan of the lace sleeves.

Yeah the forever 21 dress and Topshop skirt were my first two choices.

I am waiting for the Forever 21 dress to come into stock in my size online or when I get a chance to head to Manchester to try and look in the shop.

The topshop skirt I have tried on in store and I liked it but I have no idea what top I would wear with it since the website have a weird blue jumper combo going on.
