Dear God:

Thank you for answering my prayers. No, I still haven't forgotten about him, but I can ignore that well enough. My mom and me get along, my dad and me get along, my grandma and me get along. All of us. I reaffirmed my belief that kids as a general rule tend to love me today, and I met some little tiny cousins I haven't seen since they were babies.

I'm happier. Still not my happiest. I feel sad that I don't have someone to love, in the way I want to love someone. I just want someone to hold, and to soothe, and to make this person feel better when he's feeling down just because it makes me feel better to make others happy. That's what I miss the most about him leaving, I think. Not actually him. I just miss the feelings I'd learned to associate with him.

Thank you for helping me realize that.

For this evening, I just have one thing to ask of you: Let my mom win. You know why.
