Questions you HATE people asking you... -
July 25th 2009, 01:54 AM
Basically what questions have people asked you that are really nerve wracking?
Quote:
1. A group is talking about all the messed up moments in their life ranging from having a friend commit suicide to "feeling dead" after a bad relationship.
REASON: I've felt dead for a long time, I get by. I've almost killed someone, although to save someone, and have to live with that for the rest of my life. I looked into the eyes of a killer as he stabbed someone. My cousin "committed suicide." My best friend nearly committed suicide. I was disowned by my biological parents, although my adoptive parents are cool. Due to losing them though, I failed Erickson's first stage and have difficulty trusting everyone in my life, believe everyone will leave me once they find what's wrong with me, and that everything's temporary. I'm "batman" - darkest of the DC heroes, guess when I hear others complain I kinda feel like him.
I'm like Christain Bale, I don't like talking about my personal life for a reason.
2. What's your heritage?
REASON: I don't know it, it's like a constant reminder. "Hey, I know what I am!" Well, good for you... I know nothing - as far as I know, I could be an alien. Congrats.
3. Can an adoptive mother love their child as much as one they give birth to?
REASON: Can you think of a more assinine question to ask an adoptee? Granted, I don't think the person knew I was adopted when they asked and I couldn't speak up when they tried to say why they think it couldn't be the case because biological was "better." I resulted to the 'Superman' - which is basically all adoptees/orphans are heroes whereas biological are merely mortals. We're the mythic figure most "naturals" long to be like. You bring up Superman as an adoptee, automatically silences them.

If i don't have a smile on my face people will always ask me what wrong and if im okay.
I hate this because sometimes nothings wrong I just didn't feel like putting on a fake smile that day.

i hate when i'm alone, or upset and people ask me if i'm okay.
i hate people asking me to explain my thoughts.
i hate when people ask me why i self harm.
and i really really hated this conversation::
friend: are you okay, do you need help?
me: no, i almost committed suicide last night.
friend: oh, why didn't you?
me: what do you mean why didn't you?
friend: you should have.
that was upsetting.
and now whenever people say "why didn't you" about anything, i get really really bad anxiety and have thoughts of trying again.

Why don't you eat meat?
-You're not asking because you're interested, you're only asking so you can tell me you could never be vegetarian and think I'm wrong. Grr
Do you have a boyfriend?
-Umm, can't really answer that considering I DON'T LIKE GUYS

So, are you guys friends now? (After A Fight)
Normally I get get asked that when I forgot about what I was fighting about. That makes me remember, and it gets awkward.
Why? (About depression and things in that area)
I can't explain why. It just. . . happened over time. There's no specific reason for it.
Look at me
I will never pass for a perfect bride
Or a perfect daughter
can it be
I'm not meant to play this part?
Now I see
That if I were truly
To be myself
I would break my family's heart ♥

Are you okay?
-Well if I'm crying I'm obviously not okay
Have you eaten yet?
Did your cat attack your arm again?
Do you have a boyfriend?
-No, what part of gay don't you get?
and the question that follows- Are you really gay? xD

Friend:Are you ok?
Me: Yeah
Friend You sure?
Me: Well yes I would know if I was okay or not?
Friend: And there's nothing you want to talk about?
Me: NO I AM OKAY!
It really irritates me that no-one actually believes I can actually be okay and happy for a few moments, its almost like I feel I should be down all the time..

'So, are you single?' Am I not allowed male friends?
'Are you sure you're ok?' If I have said so, then yes, duuuur.

My three personal hates:
"Tell me about yourself?"
"I'm okay." "Only Okay?"

What's up? - My top favourite, HOW do you answer that? Does it mean how are you or what have you been up to or...what?
How are you? - Well, I don't look alright, but I'll say I am anyway because it's easier than the real answer, and you're probably not that bothered anyway.
Whats wrong? - Quite a lot of things, but I can't identify them/don't want to talk about it.
What do you think it is/What do you want to do? - When asked by doctors, erm, isn't it their job to tell me what it is and what to do about it?
Aww, how come you didn't come out? - Erm, probably because I wasn't invited.
There's probably quite a few more, but I can't think of them at the moment.

I agree with Stephanie on the ''What's up?'' one. I always just answer ''The sky'' cause I don't know what I'm actually supposed to say.
On MSN every 10 minutes: ''What are you up to?''
This is one that I get online all the time when I tell people I live in Ireland:
''So, you have red hair, then?''
''No... no, I don't''
''Oh, so you're not really from Ireland. Why are you lying?''

I agree with "What's Up?" that's really annoying. Especially when people ask it constantly. I also really hate when someone asks me where I got a shirt or something, because half the time I can't even remember, or I got it at like Wal-Mart or something, and get looked at like I'm crazy. xD
What's wrong with Wal-Mart?

AGREED!!!
I hate that too!
Edit: I forgot to add these:
You and Ryann haven't had sex yet????
-No. Just because you had sex with your boyfriend after two weeks doesn't mean I've had sex with mine after a year and four months. Get over it. Your sex life must be pretty boring if you have to focus so much on mine.
Well what have you guys done?
-I don't need to tell you, or anyone else.
Whyy, I bet I could guess, I probably already know.
-Good, then what are you asking?
Hi, this is -so-and-so calling, is your mom around?
-No I'm sorry she's not available because its noon and shes working. duh.
Well, is your dad there?
-No because he died when I was ten. (actually I just hang up, but you get the point)
What are you gonna do when Ryann goes to college?
-F*ck you.
Guess what?
-I never get a chance to tell them I probably don't care. Because the talk before I even ask back, "what?"
same with, "You wanna know something," or "Let me tell you something"
But its kinda funny.
Love is all we need. :]

I hate:
Are you really 18? - YES. I look young for my age.
What's up? - Just cos I don't walk around with a massive smile on my face every minute of every day means there is something wrong with me. Geez, I can't relax my face muscles without there being a horrible reason for it.
Do putting in contact lenses hurt? - If they did, would I do it?
(On the phone) Could I speak to Mr (my surname)? - No, because my parents divorced 5 years ago, me and mum moved in to this house and he's never lived here. So why don't you ring his house where he's been living for the past 3 years rather than this house where he's never lived before?
Have you and Richard "done it" yet? - Actually yes, but do you really think I'd tell you just because you asked?
Oh, and as well I HATE it when people go "Cheer up love, it may never happen." I always want to reply "It has happened. You're here."
Cos it's nice to know that you're walking round looking like shit. When you don't feel that way. The person is telling you that you look down right miserable in your natural state, and is saying you should be happy about it.

"Tell me about yourself."
I hate any question that doesn't have an immediate answer, but this is the one I get the most. Anyone who asks gets frozen out. Well, OK, anyone who asks me anything gets frozen out. But this one makes me extra-specially frosty. Really, though, I hate being asked anything, ever. It's just a matter of how much I hate any given question. Questions like "how are you?", I hate less, because people who ask don't actually care, they're just trying to make small talk.

I agree with a lot of the above, including "How are you?" and "What's up?" (I usually answer "what's up?" with "the sky.")
I absolutely hate when I am out with my boyfriend and friends say "So, when's the wedding?" or "Am I invited to the wedding" Both usually follow by a stupid giggle. I am only nearly 17 and just because we have been going out for 2 years they think we are getting married and it is an awkward question.
I also hate friends asking about mine and my boyfriends sex life.
This has only been said to me once but it made me feel horrible "So, when are you due?" I was 14 and I was just fat.
