Holiday Story
● New Christmas Game! :)
It's called Holiday Story. Let's all come together and make a lovely Christmas Story. I will start a line and then the next person goes off of what is written and then the next person does the same thing, let's try to keep this game going. 🙂 ● It is two days before Christmas and the weather is ten below zero outside and you just remembered you forgot......... (Your turn ) |
Re: Holiday Story
The wrapping paper, how are you going to put together gifts without it?
Re: Holiday Story
I start running around the house looking under all of the beds to see if maybe I put the wrapping paper somewhere. And I see a little red box under one of the beds......
Re: Holiday Story
I open the box and see a tiny golden figure of a ballerina, which starts dancing to a Christmas melody. I had never seen this box before. How did it end up under the bed?
Re: Holiday Story
You ask your family members if they put the box there as a surprise, but none of them have seen it before either. You decide to look for clues to investigate who left the box.
Re: Holiday Story
You start walking around the house to look for clues and you see a light underneath one of the beds.
Re: Holiday Story
You investigate further and the light is coming from a secret door under your bed. You decide to open the door and investigate.
Re: Holiday Story
When you open the door, you see a ladder and start climbing down it and when you get to the bottom it's so pretty, it's wall-to-wall Christmas decorations.
Re: Holiday Story
There is a magical feel to this place, and you wonder if it was made by the elves.
Re: Holiday Story
You grab wrapping paper and climb up the ladder and put it on the table and climb back down the ladder because you remember you still have the red box with the tiny golden figure of a ballerina and you still don't know who sent it. You want to know.
Re: Holiday Story
There is nobody in the room, so you decide to take the box out into the new village. You leave the room you are in to go out into the new village.
Re: Holiday Story
You are walking around the village and it's so pretty, you see it's very colorful and has sparkling snow outside and all of the Elfs working hard. You go through the door to them and......
Re: Holiday Story
...at first they seem startled. They hastily hide the the wrapping paper and boxes they've been working with. One of the elves, with a jingling hat on his head, asks you how you got there, and says it's a secret place nobody had ever entered without an invitation. He invites you to warm yourself next to a fireplace in the elves' hut, and asks if you'd like some hot cocoa.
Re: Holiday Story
You say yes please, I would love some hot cocoa. The Elf looks at you and says you would like to look around our secret shop? You say yes and then no, he asks what's wrong and you say I have this music box I've never seen before and he says Oh My Goodness, you are the chosen one. This means, only you can see us and help us.
Re: Holiday Story
All the elves let out an 'whooooah' and smile at each other. They start whispering intensively among themselves. One of them runs into the hut to put the milk pot on for your cocoa. You ask the elf with the jingling hat, who introduced himself as Pikki, what it means that you're the chosen one and what they need help with.
Re: Holiday Story
Pikki says that Santa has been getting tired lately, and it's been getting harder for him to deliver all of the presents on time. He needs someone young to continue the tradition of delivering presents to all of the good children. Without your help, Santa is worried that he won't be able to continue delivering presents!
Re: Holiday Story
I would love to help to deliver all of the gifts. We should let Santa rest. How can I help? :)
Re: Holiday Story
First you need to go through Santa training to learn more about how to craft toys and drive the sleigh. Then you have to make the naughty and nice list, and deliver the presents on Christmas Eve.
Re: Holiday Story
You agree and follow the elves into their hut. They sit you down next to a beautiful wooden table and put the steaming mug of cocoa with whipped cream and sprinkles in front of you. Pikki unfolds a roll of parchment, which turns out to be filled with tasks that you need to complete. It seems that the elves had been waiting for the chosen one to arrive and had prepared the list of everything that you need to know.
Re: Holiday Story
You start reading over the list many times because you want to get this all right and not mess up anything. You are very excited and you are ready to start helping to give the gifts out to all of the children.
Re: Holiday Story
First up is going to the Elves' workshop to learn about how they craft toys! You have to approve of each toy and make sure it is of the best quality. This part seems easy and fun to you because it means you can try out the toys before they get wrapped.
Re: Holiday Story
You have never made a toy like this before and all of the Elfs are very patient with you while you are learning how to do this. You are starting to get it and you are having fun now.
Re: Holiday Story
You have so many other tasks to do, though! The elves said to leave it to them, they'll get the toys made. Next comes the sleigh driving lessons.
Re: Holiday Story
You run and jump into Santa sleigh, you are so excited that you really get to drive Santa sleigh. You take off way too fast and all of the Elfs tell you to slow down and you do.
Re: Holiday Story
The reindeer were not used to having someone who was not Santa driving the sleigh, but they did their best. They made fun of you a little bit but were patient overall.
Re: Holiday Story
You ask if you can please try driving the sleigh again and you will listen and do what they tell you to do and now you are doing very well at driving the sleigh. You ask if it's time to start putting the gifts on the sleigh?
Re: Holiday Story
The elves love your enthusiasm, but they say there's one more thing you need to do: write the nice and naughty list.
'Does it mean some children won't get any gifts?' you ask. The elves reply that it's mostly a symbolic list, and it makes Santa happy to see that every year more and more children appear on the nice list. All the children will get something, even if they have been a little naughty. |
Re: Holiday Story
Let's put together this nice and naughty list. You can't believe you are doing this. The Elfs give you Santa's book and you start writing.
Re: Holiday Story
Thankfully, the elves are correct that there are more names on the nice list compared to the naughty list. When you are finished, you close the giant, heavy notebook. "Now what?"
Re: Holiday Story
You ask if it's okay to put all of the gifts onto Santa's sleigh? Because you had so much fun driving this and you can't wait to go all around the world and give everyone gifts for Christmas.
Re: Holiday Story
The elves hand you the magic sack to fit all the presents in. You don’t know how, but they all fit in! The bag is also magically light and is easily hoisted onto the sleigh.
Re: Holiday Story
You can't believe that you are really looking at this magic sack that has all of the presents in it. You ask Pikki to join you on Santa sleigh.
Re: Holiday Story
Pikki sits in the sleigh with you and says that he will accompany you to deliver the gifts this year since it is your first time.
Re: Holiday Story
You yell out Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donner, Blitzen and Rudolph and all of the reindeer take off in the air and you are on your way to deliver the gifts. It's cold outside, it's okay because you are going to make all of the children around the world happy on Christmas morning.
Re: Holiday Story
Fortunately, Santa thought about everything: there are blankets and pillows on the sleigh, and a thermos with your favourite hot drink. There are even warm, woolen socks prepared for you. The sleigh is going higher and higher, and you see the landscape changing from the magical land of the elves to your own neighbourhood. You even spot the roof of your house down below.
Re: Holiday Story
You grab the blanket and wrap it around you and you take a big drink of the hot chocolate. You feel better now. Pikki sees the first house, you say you don't see a chimney. How do I get in the house?
Re: Holiday Story
Pikki explains that Santa has a magic key to get into the homes of children who do not have chimneys. He takes the key out of a box and hands it to you. It works just like any other house key would, just turn the key and the door unlocks.
Re: Holiday Story
You jump out of the sleigh with your gift and you have your magic key, you use it and you are in the house. Then you put the doll under the tree and you accidentally woke up the german shepherd and you run and jump back into the sleigh. You say to Pikki, I didn't know Santa had to run away from dogs. I don't know if I can do this.
Re: Holiday Story
Pikki reaches into one of the bags on the sleigh. “I forgot, we have treats for the pets in the house too. These should make them happy and keep them calm.”
Re: Holiday Story
Hello Dez and Sue, thank you so much for playing this game with me, I had a lot of fun. :)
