Overwhelming sense of anxiety - January 30th 2023, 10:09 AM

This thread has been labeled as triggering by the original poster or by a Moderator. Please take this into consideration before continuing to read.

My anxiety has sky rocketed recently. And it's all my fault. I work too much and I have to focus on my degree as well. On top of that, I'm in the process of planning my wedding and it's all getting way too much for me to handle. I'm in over my head and my mental health is suffering because of it. I feel like if I do talk to my family or fiancée about it, they would say that it's because I have a lot on my plate right now and I know that I do. I'm just so overwhelmed at the moment that my mind is cloudy and I have trouble focusing and remembering things. I can't wait to finish my degree so my schedule won't be so hectic.

You definitely do have a lot going on right now! Is there any way to cut back on the hours you work at least while you are going through your degree? I know it may not be possible if you need the money though.
For now, since your mind is cloudy maybe you can write things down in the notes or reminders sections of your phone so you have it with you in a pinch.
Definitely remember to take time for yourself, even though your schedule is busy! It can even be something simple like sipping your favorite beverage while watching a good movie, but it counts. Self-care is so important and helps with burnout.
I hope things get sorted for you soon!

Hi Dez,

Thank you for your reply.
With inflation, cutting back on work will affect my finances quite a bit unfortunately.
I have started writing things down in my phone as I have a terrible memory to begin with haha.
I will. I have actually bought myself some face masks.
Thank you!

Hi,

I am sorry that you are having a hard time with all of this and I hope that you are feeling better now and I hope everything is calmer for you too. When we have a lot going on it can be hard to be okay with everything and also to see the good that is coming our way because we are upset stressed we are only seeing what is going wrong. Try to focus on the good things that are coming your way and this can help pick you up so that you are not getting so upset and stressed. I hope that everything starts to get better for you.

Thank you for your reply.

It is slightly better in some ways and I am hoping it continues.
