People are so idiotic. That's not why they get upset. Totally missing the point but good on you for being an amazing parent and KNOWING that your child would never act that way. I can't stand when people tell victims of sexual assault that they need to press charges because the person shouldn't feel like they can get off scot free.

If you've never actually been through that and if you've never actually pressed charges you shouldn't speak. Pressing charges takes a huge toll and more times than not the person goes free anyway.

If someone says 'I don't think I can press charges because I'm not in a mentally stable place' don't add something about pressing charges because the person needs to be punished.

Great way to make a victim feel like shit.
