Giving and receiving compliments

It's wonderful to receive compliments, even if it sometimes feels a bit overwhelming. At the end of the day, we all cherish kind words heard from someone. Do you recall a time when someone gave you a meaningful compliment? Did it brighten up your day?

I told my coworker that it made my day hearing how she talked with the seniors while scheduling vaccine clinics and she said it was so sweet.
And a friend told me she is very positive about my future.

I love giving and receiving compliments. I receive a compliment from a co-worker all the time and it makes me feel like I'm competent at my job for once.

My friend has told me recently that I'm like sunshine, charismatic and attracting people. It was so lovely to hear.

I received one from a coworker the other day. I'm still relatively new at my current hospital, and they continued to tell me how approachable I was and that I was so knowledgeable and if I didn't know the answer I would be quick to find the answer.

I'm bad at taking compliments and can never bring myself to accept it and say thank you. I always feel like I have to brush it off and say something bad about myself in response. :bleh: It's something I need to work on. I find that at work I get a lot of compliments from customers who say I'm approachable and friendly which is nice. My friend also called me beautiful the other day which is something I never hear, and even though I don't agree, it's nice to be told sometimes. :D

Gym members and co-workers keep saying that while the current assistant manager of my gym should be the gym manager, I should be the assistant manager.

In some ways it's a really nice thought as it makes me feel I have leadership skills, confidence, and can be firm when needed.

Re: Giving and receiving compliments

I was at the shop after work yesterday and and the guy in front of me in the queue put his shopping basket onto the conveyor rather than in the pile of other baskets. So I took it off and winked at the girl (I really need to stop doing this because people are going to get the wrong impression :nosweat: ). When it was my turn to be served she said, 'Can I just say, I notice you're in here a lot and you have really lovely hair'. I actually didn't know what to say. I'm so used to men doing it at the gym for other reasons that I was quite taken back. :nosweat:

Clearly I have no idea how to receive a compliment.

Hm, that's a good question.
It's pretty casual, but usually I received compliments when I do something that you something that normally you wouldn't do. (For example, I build a PC last month)!!
But normally, nope. As I said, it's pretty casual. It's always a good thing when you do something cool or helpful for the others!
