When COVID-19 is gone... -
December 17th 2020, 04:37 PM
What do you hope to do once covid is no longer a huge threat to us? I imagine things won't be 100% back to normal until this time next year; but I am hopeful we'll have a 4th of July celebration. This is my favorite holiday — aside from Christmas — not because we're celebrating America... but because it shows that summer is here to stay, the warm weather, the long days and short nights, and all the busyness of summer days.

Covid-19, the mutant of Coronavirus which incidentally is part of the common cold, is not going to go away. We are being vaccinated against the present, but according to our doctor, this time next year people be given vaccinations against Covid-19's mutations, plus flu-vacs because influenza mutates just a little bit differently.
Present flu-vacs contain inactivated Surface Antigens of the following: A/Guangdong-Maonan/SWL1536/209 (H1N1) pdm09-like strain (A/Victoria/2454/2019 IVR-207) 15mcg HA
A/Hong Kong/2671/2019 (H3N2)-like strain (A/Hong Cong/2671/2019 IVR-208) - 15mcg HA
and B/Washington/02/2019-like strain (B/Victoria/705/2018 BVR-11 - 15mcg HA
Individually we'll be enjoying ourselves with celebrations across the world as each nation celebrates. Meanwhile coronavirus will be quietly mutating into another variant stemming from Covid-19.
Once worldwide vaccinations are given out, people will relax, assuming the virus will vanish. But it will be back in the colder months.
According to my doctor, a virologist, every year everyone will need to be vaccinated against new strains. She hopes everyone will enjoy themselves, but she suspects our world will never be the same again.
Once the UK grinds back to normal in the spring, unless a 4th wave hits as well it could, my fam and I will return home to Monaco.

I was trying to be optimistic — and very cautiously so — because this has been an incredibly long and draining year on many people. With the vaccine being released over the next four or five months, I wanted to begin to turn my focus on the positives. I struggle with mental health as it is, and a lot of people here do; we miss our friends and our family, we miss having a job or classes to go to, we miss going to restaurants and the grocery store without having to wear a mask or maintaining a six foot distance from everyone.

When it's safer to do so I'd like to plan a trip to Atlanta. I was supposed to go to a conference there but it went online due to the pandemic. There were a lot of sights I wanted to see though so I'd still love to go.
Do you ever get a little bit tired of life
Like you're not really happy but you don't wanna die
Like you're hanging by a thread but you gotta survive
'Cause you gotta survive

When it's safer, I'd like to attend my graduation ceremony. It was meant to be this month and I would've loved to have had a December graduation. I'll take any graduation, but would really like a December one
I'd also like to be a guest at my friend's graduation too.
I've really missed going to the cinema or going to the beach this year. The latter in particular since none of us can drive and we have to rely on public transport, which isn't good in a pandemic.
I want to meet up with friends too. I haven't seen one of my friends since last year. It wouldn't be the same wearing a mask and keeping socially distant.

Advertise myself properly in and outside of the gym.
Not wear a flaming mask everywhere. I'm tired of the headaches and nosebleeds!
I also aim to work on hitting a lot more personal bests in the gym. Currently it's mostly me just doing maintenance while pushing for a single goal at a time.
I'd also like to travel around a bit more. My mum and I had to cancel our plans due to the virus. We're hoping we can finally go next year and enjoy ourselves. We still have the money saved up and everything.

I would love to be able to travel again.
I would love to not be able to feel anxious when there is an increase in positive COVID-19 cases.
I would love for things to go back to normal.
