I'm thinking of getting a new tattoo and I want opinions. :]
Soo, I was thinking of getting an eighth note behind my left ear in memory of one of my best friends who was killed in a car accident.

I'd get something unique. I know about a million people who have music notes, dragons, flowers, lilies, fairies, butterflies... You get the point. I'd have an artistic friend, or have the tattoo artist you've chosen make up a design just for you. If I saw someone with a musical note behind there ear I'd think, "Wow, you got something permanent on your body and it's not even unique."
That's just my two cents, but you know what I'm saying?
Geek? Nerd? More like intellectual badass.
"You ran through Africa, and Asia, and Indonesia.. And now I've found you, and I love you. I want to know your name."
Well I think it's lovely and such a nice thought. I have never seen a music note on anyone, so it can't be too popular. I think it's a nice place for a tattoo as well, it can easily be private if you want it too. I got the initial "R" on my ankle for my brother, but I wish sometimes I had a symbol instead, like your thinking of, because I get sick of answering questions about it, whereas with a symbol people will just take it as it is, it can remain a private tribute. x
Smile though your heart is aching
Smile even though its breaking

If you smile through your fear and sorrow
Smile and maybe tomorrow
I was also thinking my wrist, maybe? I'm an EMT so it would be covered by my gloves and when I'm a nurse the gloves will still cover it so I'm not worried about that.
Opinions?

I think it's a little big, and I'm worried about stretching, because the negative space is just a little line keeping it from looking like a big spot... you know what I mean?

Wow I love the second one Jade posted, and that wrist one as well Both would be so cute and that's a really sweet idea. Make sure you show it to us if you get it done!

i think any tattoo your going to get in memory of someone who meant alot to you is going to be perfect, at least to you.
as long as you don't try to get a portrait, which are made of lol. and can come out terribly.
(yes, i was just looking for an excuse to post that picture. it makes me laugh)
well i think anything u get will be beautiful and the reason for getting it is awesome....i got a tattoo in memory of my best friend but i didnt get it on my wrist or foot...i thought it would be too painful but actually when i got my tattoo it kind of made me fall asleep...but i dont think that music note in the heart will look like a blob
i said behind your ear.
at the end of the day its ur choice.
even if u got the most obvious, or even common tattoo.
its ur body ur choice.
and i think its a lovely idea
I think it would look really nice on your wrist. I don't know about behind the ear. I'm not sure the design you want would really go nicely there. The foot is another idea, but the ankle could work better because of the length of the tattoo though. I strongly suggest the wrist, but that is just my opinion. It should be where you want it to be.
The great artists of our time are the ones who created something timeless. But it was never them defining it that way.
