Domestic Violence tattoo

heya,I'm getting a tattoo soon & I want it to represent my struggle through domestic violence.I don't want a ribbon or anything like that,I want something a little more edgier,different & a bit more personal.Does anyone know any symbols or anything that represents domestic violence/child abuse?Pictures would be a great help too,thanks.

Yeah i was going to get swallows or something to represent freedom,but a lot of people I know are getting swallows and birds as a sort of a ''trendy'' tattoo ): I want something different and more meaningful,your idea was really good though thank you (:

Is there anything in particular that helped you through the violence? Music? Reading? anything like that.

Any particular quotes that kept you going?

The awareness ribbon colour for domestic violence is purple so you could get something in purple.
