Need a tattoo design? - November 23rd 2009, 09:49 AM

I'm getting a half sleeve for Christmas on the bottom half of my left arm to cover up scars from when I used to SH. My girlfriend was going to design the tattoo for me but her mom just recently died since we started to plan this. She hasn't had time for herself let alone time to draw me a tattoo so we both agreed it'd be best if she didn't worry about it.
Now I'm in need of a tattoo design though, and I don't know where to go or what to do. I want the tattoo to have mountains as the background, but I don't know how to incorporate anything else into it to make it a full tattoo.
To be honest I don't even know what else I want in it either than mountains, I can't think of anything that would look good. Any ideas?

Yah that's what I plan to do but I need ideas for what I want in the tattoo itself.
Was hoping someone on here could maybe help me.

I don't know if I could be put into any sort of style to classify me.
I think I've got an idea for my tattoo though, I got it by looking through pictures of other people's tattoos.
I want to know what other people think of this idea, if it would look good or it's too basic? I want to have it start just below my shoulder as the sky, then progress down to the mountains, then the tree's of the forest, and then maybe some local fauna at the bottom, maybe our province's flower the wild rose? What do you guys think?
I went through the phone book and got the address's and phone numbers of 10 places, 5 of which I looked up the portfolios of the artists and was quite impressed. Should I phone them before going in to talk to them about my tattoo?
