I like that idea too. Especially the ribbon in the quote.
But make sure it isnt too vulgar or too cluttered with meaning or just letters/words in general. One, you'll get tired of explaining everything. Two, its better to have a simple meaningful tattoo. & three, when you're 50-80 years old your skin is going to sag a bit I'm sure & you dont want a big black blob of letters on your skin

Oh, & later on down the road you might not want to have all the detailed memories of your self-injury, but just the memory that you overcame it

Maybe get "Always stay strong" in the shape of a ribbon?
