Tattoos and Piercings This forum is to ask questions and discuss tattoos, piercings and other aesthetic body modifications.
So I plan on getting a new tattoo when I hit one year cut free and 51/50 free. I know I get final say on what I get. I have a couple of quotes that I am thinking about getting. Anyone one of them I would love. So I just wanted people opinions. Also can you give me an explanation on why you picked the one/s you picked
"The rest is still unwritten"
"There is always a rainbow after every storm"
"But without the dark, we'd never see the stars"
"Stars can't shine without the darkness"
"But she found herself and somehow that is enough"
I like 'The rest is still unwritten'. The main reason is because this is something I try and remind myself when I am struggling. Not with that exact wording of course. So, depending on your connection/reason for wanting to get that it might be a good reminder to have.
I also like "But she found herself and somehow that is enough" I like this a lot because I think it's a true statement. I think when we find ourselves it can help us in recovery.
That being said, I think all of these would be amazing and they all hold a level of truth and importance. I think that whatever you end up going with will be amazing.
I like "The rest is still unwritten" best because it resonates with me a lot. I loved this song when I was younger and I still like it now as well. I have this quote up in my bedroom and I still remind myself of this every so often.
However, I think that whichever quote you decide on will be good!
My pick is "but without the dark, we'd never see the stars". I prefer it to "stars can't shine without the darkness" because of the way I interpret it - the first option feels to me like "without difficult times, we may not realise how strong we are" while the second option feels more like "without difficult times, we can't actually be strong". I like to think that the stars are always shining, it's just that we don't notice it until it's dark. I'm not sure if that makes sense at all, I've tried to write this reply a few times but I haven't been able to find the right words to explain my point of view so feel free to ask for clarification/elaboration.
i really liked "There is always a rainbow after every storm" because it basically says that there's always a light at the end of the tunnel and that the end is never the answer.
but i also really liked "But without the dark, we'd never see the stars" simply because to me, it says that at first it gets worse before it can get better. that without the negative there'd never be a positive. like yin and yang. that there's always going to be negative days before there can be positive days because without one of them, neither would exist.
"We drift away
Diffusing light
Confusing times
Growing up
Or cascading down?
Cascading down
I'm hurting now"
