I got my tattoo! -

It took me forever to finally get it, but I got my mermaid tattoo! It took about three hours to complete. My body sort of had enough around the end but I laid down and let him finish so I wouldn't have to come back, aha. I love how it came out! It's healing currently so it's in that omg itchy phase, but it seems to be doing all right! Look at it!!

That is fucking epic! The artist is really good! I mean, the detail is incredible.

I wanted a mermaid because Chess (Vargulf) and I are mermaids. It basically started out with a joke about Trident gum and evolved from there, and I fell in love with mermaids and mermaid themed things. So that's important to me. On one arm there's an infinity sign, which I really wanted to get too, but I didn't want to get it as its own tattoo so the artist was able to incorporate it into the mermaid.

Oh, wow, I just realized the mermaid was tattooed!  Good idea, Dez, to have the mermaid be tattooed!

This makes me so happy. I've already said that I love the tattoo so I won't repeat that, but it amuses me so much that this all started because of an offhand comment I made in an MSN group. Who knows, maybe one day I'll get a mermaid tattoo too. Seriously though, this is a really lovely piece, and I adore the detail. Also congrats on sitting for that long, I'm very impressed.
