question about next tattoo -
March 1st 2014, 07:07 PM
Okay so I know I posted a picture a while ago of my next tattoo but I redid it and have to to choose from. here's the picture
The first one is the self-injury ribbion with the butterfly for the butterfly project and the second one is the depression ribbon with the butterfly for the butterfly project. I'm also going to have the words stay strong on it somewhere. My questions are which one should I get and where should the words be put? My grandma says to get the depression ribbon and I'm leaning towards that considering I already have the self-harm ribbons tattooed on my wrist,

These look really good! I think it's ultimately up to you to decide which one you get. I can understand your grandma's reasoning though . I think they would both look nice and I love that each one has a meaning .
As for the placement of the words, there are many options. You could put them on the ribbon, the wings, or even on the outline of the drawing in smaller writing. You could also put the words under, to the side, or above the tattoo! I would experiment on paper to see what you like the best. You could also ask whoever is doing your tattoo and your friends and family for opinions as well. You should show us once you get it done .

I, too agree with what your grandmother is saying. Since you already have the self-harm one, I would suggest getting the depression one instead. For the words, I think an inspirational quote would work the best. I can't think of any from the top of my head at the moment, but I suggest you do some research on inspirational quotes and finding one that you like. Hope this helps and good luck!

I also see where your grandma is coming from. I personally think the words would look really nice in the wings, if you put "stay" in one wing and "strong" in the other, you know?

Such a cool tattoo idea! You should get whichever one you like the best. My opinion is the depression ribbon though, because I agree with your grandma. I like Haru's idea a lot, but I thought I'd make a suggestion as well! Which would be to put "stay strong" on the ribbon part. "Stay" on the left part of the ribbon and "strong" on the right side. Hope I explained that well enough so that it makes sense.
