I've never worked in an Apple Store specifically, but I think that you should make yourself as familiar as possible with the Mac product lineup and user interface before you go. They will, of course, teach you more in-depth about everything, but the more prior knowledge you have about it, the better.

Casey is spot on!

The more knowledge you have of their products the better. They'll teach you more, and do training with you, but it's always good to go into detail yourself, because they may ask you how much knowledge of their products that you have.

As for a career seminar; I have been to one. It's not too bad. They're are just a bunch of different companies that come into one building and they talk to you about them, and see if they can get any employee's out of it.
