BlackBerry PlayBook vs Apple Ipad 2?
The Blackberry Playbook looks awesome.
In many ways it seems better than the Ipad 2. I want it alot.. I think I buy it in the summer... after i pass a super hard exam! while i work full time. Awesome Performance in Normal Circumstance (multitasking) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Wps624RkyM ( Video Game Potential http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y49l0...feature=relmfu What Happens: Guy Plays Need For Speed... While Opening Quake 3(at the same time)! Then he plays Tetris Open Web Freedom http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vI1VgedbMUY Heres why. Advantages True Multi-Tasking (almost like a PC, watch the link) Full Flash 10.1 Support (watch movies on any website and play flash games for free) Special Invisible Buttons (on the Bezel for special functions) Size (smaller size which i like.. Disadvantage to others) 1GB of Ram Can Run Andriod Apps and Blackberry Apps Cheaper in Canada (Apples 529 vs Blackberries 499, dollar is at PAR!) Java Compatible Similarities 10 hours battery life (probaly doing basic stuff like the ipad 2.. to achieve it) Similar thickness. Same Price in the US (499 vs 499) 1 GHZ Dual Core Comes in the same Memory Sizes 16gb, 32 and 64gb HTML 5 Compatible Performs Well With Games Big App Store (google andriod compatible) Disadvantages Smaller App Store (200k vs 300k Apps) Maybe harder to Jailbreak,/Hack not available Same Price but Blackberry's tablet is smaller. Apples A5 Samsung Processor might be better What do you guys think??? I think I will get it in the summer. (its launching on April 19) It cost $499. There Will be a 90 percent chance I will buy it IF! IT gets a good review around 7.5 out of 10 or better. From Professional Reviewers It must also work really well with Google's Andriod App (not laggy, full experience) Flash better work as advertise (upgradeability a MUST) Works on atleast 95 percent of the website online The built quality should be similar to the Ipad(alittle bit worse is okay, as long as well built to a decent standard), Optional Requirement for me to buy it: Jailbreak/Hack to unlock/dl Apps. Purpose of Use: Read E-Books/PDF (IMPORTANT) Watch Videos Online from TV Broadcast Website (New Free Legit TV shows) (flash required)(IMPORTANT) Watch Free Movies online (flash required)(IMPORTANT) Browse the Web(IMPORTANT) Music Play(IMPORTANT) Bring to Skool(for work and Play) (IMPORTANT) Work Settings: At Work in the Office(during lunch and breaks) On my bed at night (before sleeping) On my bed in the morning (before going to work) Master degree classes (on saturdays, Fall 2011 and beyond) Under my blanket... relaxing after work/class Reason Why I want it: I LOVE my windows PC, and my Ipod Touch 2g. I want to use it everywhere, anytime cuz im soo busy now. I don't want to overlap with my future Smartphone purchase(Iphone 5 might be a possiblity... in the future)) But the I hate lugging my powerful Windows Laptop. And I am getting annoyed by the limited capabilities of my beloved Ipod Touch(No flash, too small (3.5 inches). |
Re: BlackBerry PlayBook vs Apple Ipad 2?
I'd pick the iPad 2 every time, over every single competition out there, for a few reasons.
A) The App Store - nothing in the world comes even CLOSE to it B) Clean, simple design C) Best mobile OS around (IMO) D) Screen size not sacrificed, whereas in most cheap competitors they have tiny screens and huuuge bezels. E) A5 Processor > All competition, sorry. F) 3G Connection. Seems like most of the competition are trying to beat Apple by producting hundreds of low-quality, crap products and try to outsell them. The PlayBook looks alright, but it's Blackberry, so we'll have to hope they don't screw up. |

I'd definitely say go test both of them out too so you can get the feel of both. Go try seeing the quality of both-test the audio, video playback, camera quality, touch, typing, applications, multitasking, and more. Spend at least 30mins play testing each-this is so that you actually get a feel for it and you aren't just pressing a few things and leaving.
I just noticed that the Playbook is something you'd have to pre-order...I'd say wait till you can physically test it before you decide to get one. Few comments for you to consider: -keyboard: would you use the on screen keyboard? Or would you buy/take around a physical keyboard? I have seen some iPad users bring a physical keyboard with as well as a stand to take notes in class. -Screen: iPad is bigger and just a bit more heavier, BUT iPad is a LED-backlit while Playbook is LCD -cost: check the cost of the model that you would want. Build your own online and see where the total is at Notes if you decide to go iPad: -Flash: I just read a way around it. If you use Skyfire as your web browser, flash will "work". The way it does this is takes what is in flash and codes it into HTML. I am not sure if it will work for movies (go in and test it out) -GO TO THE STORE: go in and ask the employees about your questions. Of course they will try to sell you the iPad, but go in just to see what they say. I'd say you should do this for the Playbook as well (whether you have to call or go to some place like Best Buy). |
