Music Discuss your favorite musicians and music, whether you listen or play, here.
What has been your favorite song or artist from each decade you've been alive?
My favorite artists growing up in the 80s and 90 were Tiffany, Cyndi Lauper, and Madonna. Today, my favorite is Billy Joel. My favorite song from him is probably Vienna. It evokes a bit of nostalgia in me, the kind of saudade feeling of missing what never was.
I mainly enjoy acoustic music from the 80s, 90s, and 2000s. I have more of a varied preference with 2000s music. Kelly Clarkson and Avril Lavigne were the first two artists I listened to heavily once I got out of school. I also enjoy mid-tempo 2000s music.
I haven't given myself the opportunity to explore music from the 2010s and 2020s beyond Taylor Swift.
Favorite song of the 80s: Vienna & Girls Just Wanna Have Fun

Favorite song of the 2000s: Breakaway & 100 Years
Favorite song of the 2010s: Fearless & Welcome to New York (2022/2023 re-releases)
Favorite song of the 2020s: Anti-Hero
80s/90s: ?
2000s: Face Up by Lights (2009, I didnt realize!
2010s: Head Cold by Lights or One More Light by Linkin Park

Do you ever get a little bit tired of life
Like you're not really happy but you don't wanna die
Like you're hanging by a thread but you gotta survive
'Cause you gotta survive
I'm really weird and pretty much listen to almost anything. So I've given my favourite bands/artists rather than songs. I've slowly gone from liking songs because they are catchy or sound good to really listening to lyrics.
90s: Vengaboys, Aqua, Spicegirls, Steps
2000s: O-Zone, Busted, McFly, Avril Lavigne
2010s: Cascada, Basshunter, Rihanna, P!nk, Sia, Taylor Swift, Adele
2020s: Ed Sheeran
I have always listened to a lot of hip hop, jazz, classical and slow songs for contemporary because I am always dancing to those styles and I always have music on.

It’s the rhythm

When I was younger, I listened to a range of music but as I got into my teens, I started listening to more heavy rock music...and only that.
Now I listen to more of a range again but my favourite is still heavy rock music and is what makes up the majority of my playlist.
