December Movie Night

Sarah and I were discussing December Movie night and we were thinking of doing them every Saturday in December. We could try and do more than one showing (maybe 2?) but we wanted to see who would be available to help host some Saturdays

Thank you!

Hosting essentially means watching the movie and talking about it in the movie channel.

You might be able to do this and watch with your son. He might enjoy it.

That could work! I would be willing to host one if you can’t find anyone else :) I have a hard time sitting through movies, but will be so if needed

Have Flynn pick a movie and host I think one of the winners was polar express. Didn't he like that?

I can probably help, except for the second week of December. I'm visiting my great nephew. The movie would have to be availalbe on Netflix, Disney+, or Hulu. I'm not 100% if I have access to Amazon but I think I do.

I believe the Home Alone Movies are on Disney. I know there are two that we have to wait to see if they're gonna release (Polar express and the Grinch) because they are holiday sensitive and aren't on all year long.

Re: December Movie Night

There is a newer version of The Grinch on Netflix :)

Re: December Movie Night

Does this time every Saturday work or should we do later? I'm trying to make the time a bit more consistent since there's gonna be so many in December. It'll be easier for social media and all that.

Moving forward we will probably pick a time to do it such as the third Saturday etc. It'll make it more consistent and easier to figure out hosting

2:00 pm PST (Los Angeles, USA)
5:00 pm EST (New York, USA)
10:00 pm GMT (London, United Kingdom)
9:00 am AEDT (Sydney, Australia

Re: December Movie Night

Also, two of the movies we picked currently aren't streaming (Polar Express and The Grinch) so we might change them out. If not I can host those two since I own both movies... Unless some of you own them.

I believe I own the Polar Express. Not sure if the DVD is at my place or my parents'.

Hi everyone! We need to make an announcement in the Chat Room soon so everyone has ample time to plan for the first movie night of the month. Unfortunately, I will be at a meeting all day Saturday and can't host. If we could please pick a host, movie, and time (include your time zone, please!), that would be very helpful. We can then start to confirm the other weekends as well.

Re: December Movie Night

Movies that won:

Home Alone 1 & 2 - Since there will be two movies I was thinking of hosting this and saving it for the 26th.

Polar Express - So far it doesn't look like this one is streaming bht a lot of people requested it so I'm thinking they might own it? It's popular.

Santa Clause -This one is streaming on Disney+

How the Grinch Stole Christmas - This one might not be streaming (I have to check). So we might have to switch it out (I was thinking of switching it with Klaus or Christmas Chronicles which are both on Netflix. Unless whoever hosts owns it.

Let me know which movie you'd like to do and when and we can go from there.

If no one can host this weekend I can and I'll start with Santa Clause bht I want to give everyone a chance to host. I will probably join in the watches this month

Jenna I can host with you if no one else can. I don't want to do it by myself the first time. We can do the Santa Clause:)

Okay. That sounds good. Do the times listed work or do you need to change them?

The Polar Express from everything I can find, will not be streaming anywhere this year.

Which Saturday would you like to host?

Re: December Movie Night

Did anyone want to host?

I can do it but we would have to change the time to 5pm PST which would be later for EST.

If someone else wants to host, let me know. I'm planning on talking to Chantal tomorrow so I'll need to know.

Had a bunch of stuff come up this Saturday.
