Re: World Cup -

yes, that disallowed goal was a goal.. buttt.. if they can put 4 past us we don't deserve to win. and for Copello to say that he thought we played is just embarrassing. we weren't good enough so we didn't win, simples. it's disappointing but oh well.
the argies will show us how football should be played.. wayne rooney and the rest should take note.

Regardless of whether the goal was in or not (which it clearly was) England played appalling and didn't deserve to win. I'm happy Germany won because they deserved it but they are arrogant and never smile and I don't want them to win..

It was horrific!!
To be honest though, it wasn't that Germany played well, it was the fact that England's defence was well shoddy. We wouldn't have deserved to win
And the ref/linesman needs to be shot at dawn

Mexico's game was just awful, even though we saw it coming it still hurts to lose against Argentina AGAIN.

i think argentina will go on to win it. they are a quality team.. a lot of people criticise their defence but on current form it'll take a great performance from anyone to beat them.

Re: World Cup -
June 28th 2010, 03:06 AM
What an awful day it was today. I seriously thought England was going to take it and México, the line man from the Germany side was stupid everyone saw it was a gol. Now in the México game everyone saw it was out of place the Argentina guy who touched the ball last on the first gol, that rocked our team out and from there on we played really bad. I do not blame anyone but it was definite a bad game, too many foals were not marked, the ref was not really doing much, just an awful day for the history of FIFA. I stayed up all night for nothing, this errors will be talked about forever.
Now who do I think will make it though I say Germany will beat Argentina and Spain will beat Germany(considering they pass the first round) I say Spain has a good shot at winning.

I can't see them getting past Brazil though. I suspect Germany might get a result against Argentina if they can tighten up the back.

Portugal have been the dullest side thus far though, 0-0 against Ivory Coast and the infamous stitch up with Brazil. I want Spain to win on penalties with that *CENSORED* Ronaldo missing the crucial spot kick

Argh; I too can't stand Ronaldo... even if he is a bit of a hottie!
I was watching the Spain Vs. Portugal match tonight and loved how the ref just kept ignorning Ronaldo's attempts to gain free kicks.
& happy with the result.

Re: World Cup -
July 2nd 2010, 10:26 PM
Holy crap, holy crap, holy crap!!! Most intense World Cup match yet? Wow those last few minutes of extra time in Ghana vs Uruguay were amazing. Suarez made a tremendous sacrifice but if he hadn't stepped in and covered the goal, and gotten that hand ball, I am sure that that that would have been a goal by Ghana. So incredible. I would have been fine with either side winning actually... Ghana played so well during the tournament and it was an opportunity for Africa to get to the semifinals... but I was just rooting for Uruguay because I think Forlan is freaking awesome and he and Suarez work so well together. Honestly I think Forlan is Uruguay's ticket to the finals. He's sooo good.
Also~ Netherlands knocked Brazil out! Now that was another impressive match. Today was an awesome day for the World Cup. I'm looking forward to the Germany vs Argentina match too. Both strong teams.

Not in defence they don't and the first fifteen minutes back that up.
Argentina are dangerous going forward but I still think the Germans will win
Looks like I can be very smug at work next week since I was pretty much the only one who said Germany would beat Argentina

It's not but every other team would have done the same. Don't believe the holier than thou stance of Ghana.
Besides it's not Saurez's fault they missed the penalty and he got sent off as is standard.

I definitely don't want Germany to win. I don't think Uruguay cheated at all If the referee didn't count it as a goal the referee should get the blame plus Ghana got his penalty shot and missed.Seriously who misses a penalty shot three times? I want Uruguay and Spain for the final even though it's going to be tough for Spain to beat Germany I think they have a good shot at doing so. I still think Spain wins it all.

The whole ball did not cross the line so the referee cannot give a goal. All he can do is what he did, send off the player and give a penalty.
I can't see Spain beating Germany, they were unconvincing in all their games. They only beat Paraguay 1-0 and Paraguay had a goal disallowed. Germany look too strong for them
I foresee a Germany v Netherlands final and since those two countries hate each other it should be an interesting game

Paraguay got screwed. They should have had another shot at that Penalty Shot. Five Spanish player ran into the area before the ball was kicked! Not to mention the goalie went off his line.
Anyway, rooting for Holland! I've called it since the beginning; they are going to win!
And Mexico, they aren't getting through. Not only are Uruguay an inferior team compared to Holland, but when Suarez isn't there, they are going to get destroyed!
ENTER SHIKARI! BEST BAND EVER!!
(little thanks to Just.Tegan for showing me these guys)
