It's because the new balls are a lot less thick -from what I've heard.

To be fair to goalkeepers FIFA are always attempting to make it easier to score against them so it isn't really right to blame keepers alone.
Portugal v Ivory Coast was dull though, here's hoping Brazil do better

I'm happy that Portugal tied, haha. It makes Italy look less shameful. Now I'm hoping for Brazil to lose or at most, tie.
I'm also pleased with the outcome of the Slovakia vs. New Zealand game. Now, it's a four-way tie in Italy's group

Did you see Paraguay's keeper's impression of superman for the Italian goal. Although I can't see New Zealand or Slovakia qualifying

If Paraguay makes it past the group stage, they'll most likely play Japan or Netherlands.

It looked like the Paraguay keeper was doing a superman impression when he came (and failed miserably) for a corner, from which Italy scored

Re: World Cup -

I was really impressed with North Korea's playing today! It was amazing. Even though they were facing Brazil, the focus was too much on defense I think. Still, they really did not make it easy for Brazil. Brazil is ranked 2nd in the world and PRK something like 105?? Anyone else think that's crazy? I think the announcer mentioned it was some kind of record, like the lowest world ranked team in the World Cup since 1992? It was such a close match too.

Re: World Cup -

To answer your question, I think it will be a tie. France has a very poor team this year.
Re: the games today, I'm very pleased with the results of Slovakia vs. New Zealand. All four teams in Italy's group are now tied 1-1-1-1. Portugal's game was a bore but I'm surprised that it was a tie - to the Ivory Coast. Portugal is supposed to be a top contender in this World Cup; they're certainly not living up to that reputation. With the third game, it was very interesting at times. I gotta say - those North Koreans really surprised me. They had an absolutely phenomenal defense; they played very well. While Brazil won, N. Korea still scored a goal against them. Given that Brazil is supposed to be ranked #1 and N. Korea #105, it's surprising to see the outcome of that game.

My friend i was watching the match with said that she felt sorry for him but i'm sorry but it's his job. Playing for England he's meant to be one of the best goal keepers in the world. But to be honest it wasn't just that mistake that he made. Pretty sure it was in the second half but he almost made another easy mistake. It was only a fluke that he ended up saving it. I think if I was him and I'd missed it I'd be on the first flight home!
I went to Wales this weekend and oh my gosh, as soon as we walked into the pub on the first day we got there until we left we were completely slated. Our team is pretty shocking this year. But blah. i love the World cup.

I didn't see any games today but I was listening in the radio and the England game seemed boarding, I thought the USA was going to lose but they did pick it up in the 2nd half. This is what México looks like when we beat France.

Went to a British pub to watch the game. Aside from being hit on by ridiculously hot Britts with accents, the game was horrendous.

Ugh, what a shit game that way. Thankfully Jack Daniel's and songs about how we've still got more points than France helped.
Mind you the US did us a favour since the group is still open, if we beat Slovenia it'll go down to goal diffetrence

The main thing is it's still in our hands, but we'll need to be a lot better to beat Slovenia
With Denmark winning 2-1 against Cameroon it means that Cameroon will be the first club to go home

Even I think that's an overreaction and I'm English. Although from what I gather they are not racist but likely to incite racial hatred. It's important to remember that a lot of people get stupidly patriotic for these 4 weeks

Italia against NZ what a game if it hadn't been for the penalty NZ would of rocked the whole game.
Right know Brazil is kicking ass. So many yellow cards and violance, that is real football.

Go S. Koreans that's all I can say
Interesting match between Spain and Honduras.
Now hopefully my hay-fever clears up, and Honduras scores to make the match even more interesting

Though for my S. Korean friends sake (who will be conscripted in the army soon), I'm glad the North got thrashed. That's for brainwashing, and murdering innocent people Kim Jong-il. No more cognac for you mate
