Yesterday was the opening ceremony of Euro 2020. There have been lots of emotions already, with Turkey losing to Italy 0-3 in the first match and a Danish player Christian Eriksen collapsing on the field due to a heart attack in Denmark vs Finland.
Are any of you football fans? Are you interested in this type of tournaments? Do you prefer the World Cup over the Europe-focused Euro? Which team's your favourite?
I'm happy the global situation allowed for such a tournament to take place. I enjoy visiting pubs and watching games with other fans. There are also large outdoor screens in my city where people gather to watch.
I love football and play for a local team in my town/area, I have watched most of the matches that have been shown, I missed most of the Denmark vs Finland one today as I was out but I heard about Erikson and it all sounds very scary... the England match is tomorrow which I am really looking forward to as its my country etc. I enjoyed the Wales vs Sweden one today, and that game at times was intense especially when the played got an injury to his head and it wasn't clear if he was going to be able to continue play or not but he did after being treated etc, and then the second goal for Sweden that was disallowed due to the player being offside etc. there's been some really tense moments.
'There will be bad days, there will be good days, there will be really bad days, and really good days, and days that are not bad or good but just simply suck, but either way you got through it and you are here today and that is all that really matters''
I'm looking forward to watching the game! Denmark played really well against England on Wednesday, and given their start to the tournament, it would have been really good for them to make it to the final. But, of course I have to support England and I hope that they win
I'm not really into football but I do hope England win. Not just because they're also part of the UK, but I don't think they've won anything like this in forever.
The match yesterday was super exciting. I have to admit I wasn't expecting a lot from Italy after England's quick goal I feel a bit sorry for the English as they played well throughout the whole tournament. Both teams deserved to win, especially when the match was resolved by penalties. But as I said I supported Italy and so I'm happy they are the champions
