Advice for rtetaking college class? - July 6th 2013, 02:13 AM

I had to retake my math class because the teacher never turned in my stuff. I did two courses in one semester finished both a week before we were out. She never turned in my stuff or anyone else's that did that and its frustrating! I worked hard at getting it done and so now I have no motivation. Any advice on how to get motivated again? I mean its easy but so time consuming. I have four total chapters and a month left and haven't even finished the first!

Well, if you weren't the only student who got screwed over, can't you set up a time where you and the other students go to the academic office and argue your case? You shouldn't have to re-take a class because the teacher failed to do her job. That's YOUR time and money that's being wasted, and the university should be made aware of this issue and seek to fix this problem.

I asked but because it was off a website only that math teacher used they can't recover to know who had what grade. Totally a bad answer they could still get it without the teacher.

You are not paying for the class, I hope? If no one had their information turned it, the teacher should have been fired. I would view it as an opportunity to earn a higher grade.

If it was an online website, is there still any main academic office or "principal" that you could explain the situation to? If not, and you really just have to retake the class, you could view it as a chance to improve in the areas that you already know, and get better in the areas that you don't know as well. The advantage is you've already taken the class, so it would kinda be a mental refresher in a way.

I am guessing that it is a third party website, usually textbook manufactures, where people do homework and tests through them. I've done a few of them before.

It was! I had to withdrawal from my summer semester and restart those two classes this fall... It is annoying but maybe my head will be on straight and I will be motivated. It sucks because I totally had a 98 in the class before.

I would make sure that the cost of the classes do not count against you. In fact, I would contact any financial office and complain that you are being forced to withdraw and make sure you are not having it paid with by loans for the 2nd attempt. I would also make sure that it does not show up on your transcript.
