UK College/University Age -
August 16th 2012, 12:07 PM
I always wondered what age people in the UK started college. I know in the USA that people usually start college/university at the age of 18(depending on if you skipped a couple of grades or not, so it could be different). So, what's the normal age that most people start college/university in the UK?

We start university at 18 here, too. The difference is that we finish high school at 16 and go on to college or sixth form where we do A levels for 2 years.

I think it's pretty similar in both?? In Ireland anyway, we start college at 18 (or 17, depending on whether you skip your fourth year of secondary school) and some Irish people end up going over to do college in the UK.
