Writing letters

Tomorrow, on 7th December, is Letter writing day! Have you ever written a letter? Maybe you do it on a regular basis?

I relish sending letters (and postcards!) to people I care about. Nowadays letters have become a unique and extraordinary means of long distance communication, and they can convey a lot more emotions than an e-mail or a phone call. What's more, they allow the author to use their creativity.
Let me know if you send letters from time to time or if you would like to try it!

I love writing! I blog and journal; but I never send letters. I might write a letter or a series of letter to people that are no longer a part of my life; but I never send them because I know these people are in my past. It helps give me a sense of closure or serves at a sort of reminder as to why things are the way they are.

Around the holidays, I will send out cards — "Season's Greetings" — but that's pretty much the only time I do it.

I used to write letters. But I don't anymore since social media makes it easier to keep in touch. I miss writing letters though...it feels more personal than a message. And it is unique since not many people write letters these days and while it easy to message a group of people or tag many people in social media all at once, a letter is more the one person's eyes only. If it were possible to write and mail letters to my friends, and there was a particular reason for it, then I would do that over sending a message online!
