Social Anxiety vs Selective mutism - April 18th 2018, 03:49 AM

How can you tell the difference between social anxiety and selecrive mutism? It seems the symptoms overlap.

Re: Social Anxiety vs Selective mutism - April 18th 2018, 04:01 PM

I have social anxiety and I do get very quiet in settings where I am not comfortable. However, my quietness is due to the fear of being judged. I believe that a lot of people with selective mutism also have social anxiety. If you feel you might have either of these it would probably be a good idea to talk to a doctor about it as they would be able to do a proper diagnosis and help you figure out ways to cope.
