Anxiety: I think I may be getting somewhere :) - May 13th 2015, 12:09 PM

I've been diagnosed with generalised anxiety disorder and would worry about every little tiny thing. My sister gave birth to a beautiful baby boy (Isaac) a few days ago and the nurses and doctors thought he may have had an infection so gave him blood tests. My mother was worrying like hell and was thinking it may be something serious as his blood sugar was also low. I was the person telling my mother that he's probably fine and that if he was really ill we'd be able to tell.

They've given him formula milk instead of breast milk for a bit to see if that helps his blood sugar and it has it's perfect now. He just has jaundice which is really common in new borns and there's nothing really to worry about:

I'm just amazed at how I've been reacting to this. Before I would have been worrying like crazy. I think my meds, self-help and mindfulness are actually starting to help

Yeah, I would worry about Jaundice too, but you're right it is very common (I had it when I was born too!)

It really does sound like you have made quite a bit of progress in anxiety and not worrying so much about every little thing! Go you!

He should be coming home tomorrow now Everything seems to have cleared up fine I just feel like the nurses/doctors know what they're doing, there's no reason to worry when I have no control in any of this.

/this seems like a different person is talking I would have reacted so differently before >.>

Aww <3 My sister just put this on Facebook omg <3
