Night anxiety - January 2nd 2015, 07:46 AM

Honestly I'm not too sure if it's anxiety but everytime i lay down to sleep I feel a heavy weight on my cheast. Some times I find it hard to breath. I also get a headache where I feel I'm being stabbed and than I will get a nose bleed. This doesn't happen any other time when I lay on my bed only at night. It's a little scary. My parents say I'm over exaggerating and say if I want to see the doctor I'm going to have to pay out of pocket. And that's expensive. I'm thinking its a panic attack or something but I can't pinpoint why. It's very frustrating and preventing me from sleeping. And I start school again next month this won't work with my school schedule -__- i just really want to sleep without all the worry

Life is too

Short to spend

It at war with

Yourself.

I’m catching stars in the sky because I am fixing the soul within me. May it be from the heart a girl broke years ago or my soul simply repairing itself as it was shattered on my walk on this earth. May the stardust fill those cracks within my soul making me brand new, but never forgetting who I once was.

Hey there,

How often does this often? If it’s happening regularly then it may be a medical condition, such as high blood pressure. High blood pressure can cause nose bleeds, headaches, difficulty breathing and make you feel anxious. When you have had this experience a few times, this may increase your anxiety levels. Is there a way of getting your blood pressure checked to find out if it’s high or not?

Otherwise, do you have the heating on at night? Another cause of nosebleeds could be dry air, from heating or air conditioning. Or are you on any medication where this may be a side-effect?

Try to relax before you go to bed. Maybe have a relaxing bath, or read. Avoid screens and the internet. Try not to worry about what might happen in the night. Also, avoid eating things high in salt before going to sleep, and maybe keep some water close by so that if you do end up with a headache you can have some water to help you calm down.

I think it may be beneficial for you to go to the doctors, and get it checked out seeing as it’s affecting your sleep, and causing you to feel scared. Even if there is nothing physically wrong, and it turns out to be anxiety or a panic attack, you can still get help for that too.

Take care
