COVID-19 & TeenHelp. -

Hello everyone,
You will undoubtedly be aware that the current global situation with COVID-19 (corona virus) is forcing many businesses, schools and community organisations to close. I just wanted to provide some reassurance that we are not currently expecting this to affect our ability to keep TeenHelp running and will broadly maintain all of our services for our community so that we can see this crisis through together! We will keep this under review based on demand and volunteer available, but as an online service that is predominantly delivered from volunteers' homes, we feel that we can continue as we are for the foreseeable future.
On a personal level, the coming months will be tough. You may find yourself self-isolating, you may know people who become ill, you may have the stress of cancelled school/exams and social activities, and you may find yourself becoming more isolated and lonely. All of this will has the potential to negatively effect you, your family & your mental health.
Please take this time to reach out to people local to you, maintain social contact through Facebook, Skype, WhatsApp etc and please also come to us, tell us how are you feeling, seek the support you need if things get tough.
We are here for you!
If you are well & able, please do use this time to also support your neighbours and people close to you - there are hundreds of community response groups springing up all over the world and you may be able to impact on those less fortunate than yourself. This includes elderly & vulnerable people who must self-isolate in order to protect themselves. Could you provide social contact via telephone or help to collect food & medication for those in need? Particularly think of those who live on their own and don't have another support.
Keep going and together will we will overcome this!
All the best,
Rob
