Hard hitting books
I've probably asked this before but I'm curious if anyone knows of any good books that are depressing, hard hitting or deals with tough topics.
Things about suicide, self harm, depression, anxiety, grief and abuse? I'm in a weird reading mood and have only been wanting to read these types of books. I'm tempted to try A Little Life at some point because I've heard it's devastating but it's also 720 pages. Suggestions would be awesome! |

I recently finished Monday's not coming and that book was devastatingly beautiful.
I finished Last time we say goodbye which was about losing a loved one to suicide. Once we were brothers was a good historical fiction. Essentially, if it's devastating or sad I'll probably end up liking it. |

Anything by Ellen Hopkins would fit the ticket :p

I've read all of Ellen Hopkins books except for her most recent one. She's one of my favorite authors and I like that I can read her books in a few short hours.
