I've been thinking of reading Sanderson for a long time. You recommend his novels then, I reckon?
I really enjoyed his Mistborn Series. He does have a ton of books and I would suggest starting out with his original Mistborn Trilogy (The Final Empire, The Well of Ascension and Hero of Ages). I know other people started with some of his stand alone (Elantris or Warbreaker) and I've heard both are pretty good. Although, he has talked about continuing both at some point.

Also, I might try and give discworld a shot. Is there a book that I should start with?

Thanks, I'll try them.
Discworld is a series in which different books are about different characters (for example book 1 is about X, book 2 about Y, book 3 about Z, book 4 about X again etc.). Therefore you can either read the books in order of their release, or following the characters.
I recommend reading them in order of their release (first The Colour of Magic, then The Light Fantastic, then Equal Rites etc.).
I hope you'll get to read them

It looks like a lot but a lot of these are graphic novels/manga. I will probably be reading the Manga for a while but I should be able to get through the graphic novels quickly enough.

Fanfiction > Fandom: FRIENDS > One-Shot.

It's a Randler friendship fic, kind of poking fun at the haters I guess.

My kind of story. Though I have to stop projecting from Harry Potter.

I could have sworn I added this the other day ... but not finding ... either I posted it somewhere else on accident or I never actually posted it.

Not certain I'll continue with the novel. it's overly simplistic. IDK. I am probably going to try and read about 100 pages before making a decision. I might keep reading it simply because it WILL be an easy read and I am in a weird mood with all that is going on right now.

(Job searching/interviewing/preparing is the absolute worst. )

Reading this and the other book at the same time. It'll take a few days. This is from my book subscription box.

It’s good so far! I think I have about a hundred pages left? It’s hard reading two books at once.

Re: What are you reading now? - January 29th 2018, 07:49 AM

I've been looking forward to all three of these since last year. I believe that sage vol 8 came out in December but it took a while for my library to get it processed and on the shelves. Lighter than my shadow is a graphic novel about a girl who has an eating disorder or something like that. I read the synopsis a while ago and know it sounded good. Would rather go into it without knowing the whole thing. I believe it released in the UK last year or back in 2017? I'd been wanting to read it but I could only get it at a UK store and didn't want to spend the money. Was excited to find out that the usa and my library were finally getting it.

Also, cruel prince is from an author who focuses on darker stories. The first series I read from her dealt with faeries and she portrayed them as quite dark. (I need to get copies of that series - Tithe, valiant and Ironside- but hoping to find them used). I have a few more books by her I want to read but this book is brand new and sounds great. It deals with faeries too and I imagine they will be darker faeries.

Hoping I'll end up enjoying all these books/graphic novels since I've been looking forward to them for ages!

Not certain I'll end up getting through this. It's a library book and I want to attempt to read it before it's due back since it is unlikely I'll be able to renew it.

This book was supposed to come out last year (December) and I have had it pre-ordered since May of 2017. Unfortunately, the release got pushed back to February 6th...I am going to be reading this.

If I like the conclusion of the story I might end up purchasing the rest of the books to complete the series ... If I don't like it enough I won't.

This is only about 324 pages. I am about 50 pages in. I don't know that I like it? Not sure, there are things that are annoying to me and turning me off. Given how short it is ... I will probably finish it.

I read this the beginning of last year. I liked it quite a bit. My old therapist kept telling me to read it too. I believe that she has another book as well.

Hope you end up enjoying. Her story is pretty awesome. She overcame so much!

If clarity's in death, then why won't this die?
Years of tearing down our banners, you and I
Living for the thrill of hitting you where it hurts
Give me back my girlhood, it was mine first

The axe forgets, but the tree remembers

I've finished East of Eden and now I'll probably start The Lies of Locke Lamora by S. Lynch.
