Who doesn't like a Sloppy joe? They are fun to make and to eat. If it looks like a lot of ingredients or you don't have a lot of time, get all of the dry ones together and cut everything before you start or the night before, then add the liquid ingredients, it takes less time to cook.
Ingredients
1 Tbsp butter
1 Tsp olive oil
1 pound ground beef
Half bell pepper, minced
1/2 onion, minced
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 Tbsp Tomato paste
2/3 cups Ketchup
1/3 water
1 Tbsp brown sugar
1 Tsp Mustard
3/4 chili powder
1/2 Tsp Worcestershire sauce
1/2 Kosher salt
1/4 black pepper
Hamburger buns or bread
Method
Wash your bell pepper, then grab your onion, garlic and a cutting board. Start cutting all of your vegetables into small pieces, then set them aside.
Using a frying pan, put the heat on medium then add butter, olive oil and ground beef.
When it's all brown it is done. Drain the liquid and add onions, bell pepper, garlic and tomato paste, cook for about 4 minutes.
Add ketchup, water, brown sugar, mustard, chili powder, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper and mix it all together until it thickens.
Remove from heat and put on hamburger buns or bread then enjoy.
