i saw this in passing while replying to another thread
yeah i like ramen but it has to be made good at home
i dont mean fancy i just mean good
like okay you know the really cheap ramen packets?
the ones you can crush up and shake the flavor in and eat like popcorn?
those are okay on there own but you can really make it better if you know how
i know how because mom showed me so you can trust me on this
im not going to like make a huge guide on it but im gonna give some quick pointers
im gonna talk about the chicken flavored ones since thats pretty common
okay so heres what you want
- a pack of chicken flavor ramen noodles
- 1/2 cup of green onions chopped up
- 1/8 to 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes or none if you dont like spicy stuff but why wouldnt you like spicy stuff?

- a egg
- 3 ounces of cubed chicken breast
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon of salt
okay so heres what you do
- get a pot to boil water for the noodles in and a pan to cook the chicken and onions in. fill up the pot with the water you need and get the stove going to boil it. normally youd wanna put a lid on the pot so it boils faster but you can leave it off this time since you dont want to rush yourself
- use the olive oil on the pan and cover the bottom with it. you can swirl the pan around so its even. then you preheat the pan over the stove on medium heat for about 5 minutes. preheat means you dont add anything yet you just wanna get the pan and the oil hot. if it starts getting smoky then that means its preheated but thats also a bad thing so in the future add more oil if you wanna do this again
- okay after its preheated you add the chicken and the salt and the red pepper. your gonna cook the chicken for about 3 to 5 minutes. you wanna move it around with a wood spatula but not to much. the chicken needs to be still for a bit to cook in the pan but if you keep it still to long then it wont cook in the middle. its really tricky to figure out but your learning
- okay during this time your water should be boiling and if it isnt then you can put a lid on the pot to make it boil faster. but if it is boiling now you add the noodles to the pot
- after the chicken has cooked a bit and the noodles are in the pot add the green onions to the pan with the chicken
- after you add the green onions crack open the egg and drop it into the pot with the noodles
- now your gonna alternate between using the wood spatula to mix up the chicken and onions with breaking up the noodles for about 1 or 2 minutes. leave the egg in the pot alone its gonna cook just fine
- after the green onions have cooked take the pan and dump the chicken and onions into the pot with the noodles. keep on stirring things up so the noodles keep breaking for 1 minute. you dont need to worry about the egg anymore
- add in the flavor packet that came with the ramen and mix it all up for another minute. then take it off the heat and pour all of that into a big wide bowl
okay now you got this homemade ramen that has the noodles and some veggies and chicken and a egg in it. and its going to taste really good and its gonna be filling and your gonna think good thoughts while being warm and happy

ramen is like anything
the more you put in the more you get out
