Photography situation - January 6th 2025, 01:03 AM

I am literally sobbing right now.
my mom is ok with photography, ok?
My dad thinks she loves it and that's okay.
He got her my DREAM FUCKING CAMERA and when I asked if I could use it after they bought it they yelled at me and said "no that's your mothers! Not yours!" So I asked if I could get a similar camera or something cheaper even and my dad said "maybe if you get your phone back you can just use that..." MY MOM HAS HER DAMN PHONE...I wanna fucking smash that camera just so my mom can't fucking break it. Cus I know in .2 damn seconds it's getting lost, broken, and can't even be figured out by someone to incoherent. I'm literally tweaking out rn

Hi Madison,

I'm sorry to hear what you're going through at the moment. It can definitely be upsetting when you don't get spoken nicely after asking a question.

Would it be possible, that once things have calmed down, you are able to ask your parents again if you can borrow the camera so you are able to prove to them that you will be responsible with getting your own?

I love photography as well and there are plenty of cameras out there that are reasonable priced. Another thing I can suggest is potentially saving up to buy one for yourself. It can take some time but it will be worthwhile in the end.

Speaking to your parents about how you feel could beneficial as they may not have realized the effect that it had on you when they spoke to you the way that they did.

I hope this helped and if you ever need anything, my inbox is always open.

Thanks for the advice. My mother said I couldn't use her camera but I could save for my own and she wouldn't use it. She refused to let me use hers because "I don't know how to use the film" apparently. But I'm going to get a Polaroid camera

That's exciting that you're going to be getting a Polaroid! Have you chosen one?
