Are We Teaching Her Bad Things?

Josh, Jackson(my twin brother) and I were trying to teach my sister Erin wrestling moves the other day. Is this bad when she is 4 years old. She’s basically grown up so far going to Jackson’s wrestling matches at school and when we are playfully wrestling at home she usually wants to join in so just teaching her easy things and nothing to bad.

By the time she’s 16 she’ll be beating the boys. She’s a wild little kid. We only decided to teach her when she tried to jump in a got elbowed in the head. No she didn’t cry, she got right back up and continued to try to join in, we let her beat Jackson. 💯🤣

I think as long as you’re not putting her in a situation that will potentially hurt her it’s okay. Make sure that you’re gentle with her when you do this and that if anyone ever gets overly excited you take a break and calm down so she doesn’t get hurt. Basically don’t be overly rough since she is smaller and more fragile. If she ever shows signs that she is in pain or discomfort or if you think there’s a chance she will get hurt, stop immediately. Maybe she’ll be on school wrestling team one day!

My brother was definitely doing wrestling moves from a very young age (much to everyone's annoyance!). I don't think it's a bad thing as long as it's age appropriate and gentle for her. Children play fight so it's not necessarily unusual. I also think it's a lovely thing for you to let her join in when she clearly wishes she could be a part of the hobbies you enjoy. This will be a great way to mentor her and grow closer as siblings. :)
