Unhappy Concerned - March 10th 2020, 08:05 PM

I know my younger sibling (4 years difference) (she’s 14) is doing things because I saw a screenshot that she was looking up pregnancy symptoms. Should I tell my parents? She’s in middle school.

As someone who has written fictional stories (both original and fan-based) I wouldn't be super worried. She could be trying to write a storyline in a realistic fashion and it seems one of the characters might be pregnant. That's just the writer in me who has Googled countless random phrases that could either raise red flags with the government or send me to a mental hospital.

However, that's not to say there isn't cause for concern. I don't know how close you are with her and if she ever tells you anything. I suggest talking to her, but don't make it known you invaded her privacy. I'm sure others would have better suggestions than I would. Wishing you the best of luck!

unless she is actively exhibiting symptoms of pregnancy or she tell you she is pregnant, i doubt there’s anything to worry about. we all google weird things sometimes, and as previously stated by the person above, she could be using it write fanfiction or something. she could also just be curious, as most teenagers are

Have you actually considered talking to her about what you saw first? If I were in her position, I don't think I'd appreciate my older sibling telling our parents some half-baked observation story without bothering to check the whole facts with me first. For all you know, she could be googing symptoms on behalf of a friend, or anything. Talk to her first before jumping to conclusions.
