My friends are ignoring me and it's almost time for school to start

I just started high school about halfway through last year bc I was ahead in middle school so that meant new friends. I made 2 new friends one that I'm still talking to so its fine. But my other friend I made we were talking and hangout for the first week of summer but then he just started ignoring me he got grounded and his mom texted me to tell me that and when he got his phone back I texted him and said hi then he said brb and hasn't texted me in weeks. Idk if he got tired of me bc I get depressed a lot or if he got mad at me bc he might have found out about me hurting myself again idk what happened he sees my messages on Instagram and when I text him it says he's read them but he ignores them school is about to start in a week and I wanna talk to him about it when I go back but I don't know if I should even talk to him what if he gets mad at me for talking to him I'm just so confused about what I'm supposed to do and I'm already hating the thought of going back to school bc of this he won't even tell me what I've done to make him ignore me idk if this is all out of order I'm

I think you should talk to him. I know it will be hard to do but if you don't talk to him you are never going to get an answer as to why this is occurring. Talking will clear the air and let you figure out if you and him can move forward in regards to the friendship or if you need to move on from the friendship.

I want you to know that if this person has decided not to be friends with you because of your depression or because you are hurting yourself it isn't your fault. You cannot control the fact that you are depressed and you should have the ability to talk to your friends about it if you want.

Something I would suggest is that when you get into school you consider joining clubs so that you can work on meeting more people. It can really help to meet new people.

I agree, I think you should talk to him as well. You can also consider writing a note or sending a message since it can be easier to talk that way, but talking face to face might be better since he's been ignoring your messages. If you're not sure what to say, you can write something out so you have some points to go off of.

Not everyone reacts well when someone they know is struggling but like it's been said, that isn't your fault. I hope this has a positive outcome for you but if it doesn't, at least you'll get some closure. You deserve some closure in the least.

I agree that you should talk to him, at least so that you can get some closure and either move on or have the issue dealt with. The conversation won't be as bad as you imagine it to be, so just try to breathe and be calm when you go find him for it. If he doesn't want to be your friend, then you don't need him in your life. Him pushing you away like this definitely isn't your fault.
