2 months medication
I've been under medication for two months, I can say that it really helped my
anxiety. but still I am experiencing them almost everyday but not to the point that I'm losing my mind. Which is quite understandable since I have a lot of projects, exams, and exercises to tend to. But two months still I can say that my anxiety have been reduced but the side effects are quite dreadful. Two months and still experiencing a lot of side effects is that normal? I have been diagnosed with GAD, OCD, and social phobia. Still having a hard time travelling through public places still experiencing a dreadful feeling when leaving home. but now it is quite tolerable upon medication. Still having a hard time concentrating, my mind always goes blank. Always confused. switching from one thing to another. I can't get anything straight. Always feeling empty and tired probably because of my anti anxiety meds. My mood always goes blank. I really have a poor memory now. I'm finding it hard to concentrate in class and due to that my performance at school is very low. Is this normal shouldn't meds help me function normally. With or without meds my daily life is dreadful. 2 months should have been enough for my body to adjust. but still. |
Re: 2 months medication
Everyone responds a bit differently to meds, but 2 months might not be enough time to have them adjusted properly..and for you to get used to them. Talk with the doc who's prescribing them and give him/her the info they need to adjust them. And have patience! It sounds like they're beginning to work.

Re: 2 months medication
Medication isn't for everyone to help treat social disorders such as GAD/OCD/Social phobia but as Dr.Bobby said above it looks like it is starting to work and in your case with multiple disorder more then two months is most likely necessary to adjust to the meds. However you really should speak to the doctor/specialist who prescribed you those meds as soon as possible if you haven't already informed them about your memory loss and the other side effects. They will be able to put you on different medication or refer you out to a different field for different treatment if they feel the side effects are too great.

Re: 2 months medication
Already talked to my GP, she said we should first fix my anxiety disorder. and it is normal and stuffs like this doesn't work like magic blah blah blah... Well, both are terrible with or without meds...

Re: 2 months medication
The best thing i can suggest then is to go to another GP in your area and get a second opinon. GP's are not exactly specially trained to deal with social issues such as yours IMO and beyond being able to give advice, prescriptions and referrals for social orders you should consider asking either your current GP or another for a referral to a specialist such as a psychologist or councillor, especially with multiple social disorders in your case.
