Unhappy ED + Diabetes = Not good - May 1st 2011, 08:42 PM

Well I did some more research, for about 5 years I've had binge eating disorder. This caused me to have disordered eating where I would starve and purge when I could without causing suspicion which wasn't often, I've dealt with that for at least 3 years. Over a while it has evolved into atypical anorexia. I starve myself but I don't look like I have an eating disorder so no one can tell. Anyway today I'm finding it odd, usually I do get hungry, count 100 and it's gone enough to forget for a while. But today I get hungry and it feels different, I have pre-diabetes and I think that's why. I can usually drink water to fill up if it gets bad but every time I take a drink I feel worse like I was full to the max and tried to drink or eat. But actually I'm hungry because I haven't eaten anything all day. I've been up since yesterday, I didn't sleep last night and it's just past noon here. What is going on? I couldn't eat if I wanted to but the damn feeling won't go away.

Im not a doctor, so Im not going to pretend that I have any idea of whats wrong with you. What I do know is that whatever it is, its not healthy. Eating disorders are dangerous enough when youre otherwise healthy. Having an ED while you have pre-diabetes is crazy dangerous. Your body already has enough trouble with balancing nutrition, youre putting yourself at a high risk of irreversible damage to your body. I think now is the time to try to get better. There are tons of people on here that are amazing at supporting people with EDs, or even better, you can reach out to someone in the real world. Just remember, theres always someone who you can talk to

I know, tomorrow my mum and I are calling the local rehab tomorrow. I'm going for a lot of things but one thing I want to get help for is my ED as well.

Congratulations I'm so happy that you're one if the few girls brave enough to get help before their entire life is thrown away. I was having a really bad day, but now I have a huge smile on my face. I really hope you heal

Aww I'm glad I made you happy I hope I can beat this. It won't be easy but I'm scared to tell anyone, especially some stranger who wants to talk about it because it's their job.
