doctor cant do it

my mum is threatening to ring my doctor and get my appointment she foound about my cutting and picking my scabs, i told her i couldnt stop ive tried it to hard she now is threatening me that she is gona phone the doctor, and get me an appoitment i dont wana see the doctor i know i need to and i need help but i jsut aint ready its all getting to much and i jsut wana cut more and more and more and more and more and more and more. and i cant stop its to hard. i cant go to my doctor i just cant i cant i cant i cant i cant i cant i cant. i just cant. and my mum told me she thinks i have pysoclogical problems. i duno what to do help please

I think you really should let her make an appointment. Believe me you feel real better after seeing someone, even just to talk. If things are getting worse its definitely best you get help before it gets any worse instead of after.

ive tried talking to my doctor before but just completly froze up and said nothing and couldnt do it i know i cant do it agian it was bad enough the first time i just dont know what to do i know i need help i just cant get it.

I found myself that the best way to start these things is to try to start off with a very short sentence that sort of explains things and work from there. Its ok to waffle a lot, it helps you along. Just concentrate on getting it all out, and once you get started it gets a lot easier. If your doctor's any good anyway he'll be able to help you along with leading questions anyway.

Just make sure that the goal is that you tell him and he knows, you don't have to worry about anything else.

I know this is difficult, but this could be your way to recovery. Your doctor is not going to judge you, they just want to help you. You have to want to help yourself. Clearly your mom is worried about you and she just wants you to be OK. You don’t have to tell the doctor a lot, just start with little things, it will get easier over time.

but when i the tell doctor about my dad wont he just tell social services ? i dont even have a docotors and appointment yet but my mum threatening me with it. i know i need help and i do want help i jsut dont feel ready to get help. and wouldnt i have to tell my work and my college and then i might loose my job and my college place becuase of i work with kids they might think im a danger to other and get rid of me and kick me off the course.

Not unless he thinks your fathers posing a massive risk to your well-being, and even then social services work on the basis of "doing whats best for the child" so you daon't have anything to worry about.

You may not feel capable of doing it now but now's as good a time as any and you are able to do it. Think how it will feel when all this is over. Don't keep putting it off when you have the chance to change things now.

Firstly you can't loose your college place, that's discrimination. And I can't see why sh can pose a threat to children, the laws usually block those with actual criminal comvictions. I will check it for you of course But remember yourself is the most important thing.

i know they cant but if they think i may put the children in danger because i carry a saftey pin in my bag in case i need to cut while im out, and stuff like that then they could. everyone tells me i can but i cant i just cant ive tried before and froze up my mouth went dry and no words come out and i felt like an right idiot i cant do it i know i cant.

No, a safety pin isn't going to cause a threat (I do voluntary work and we carry multi-blade penknives)

You couldn't do it because you didn't think you could do it, and now you can only do it if you really want to and believe you can do it. Many of us have been there before you and worked ourselves out of it because we believed in ourselves, and you have to do the same. You can only go so far as you want to, and now you have to really want to cure this to do it. You have a way out, now take it!

It will be worth it to admit that you want some help. your mum obviously feels you need some and so seems to be doing her best to make things better - in the long run.

You can do this. i know the feeling - like you just don't think you could make yourself say the words.. but trust me, take a deep breath and tell the doctor about what you are going through.

planning what you want to say helps i think, just going in there on a blank can just leave u wondering what u could start with. Like i think i saw my doctor and just said something like "im here because i tried took too many tablets..." lol kind of a weird way to put it but its was as blunt as i could manage. and its better to come out with the basic problem.

I could be telling you all this in vain if you had your appointment today. if you did, how did it go?

i have not made an appointment, when i went the first time i had plan to pull my trouser leg up and show the doctor my foot, and my leg (i had athletes foot) i was hoping he would notice them and ask but he didnt. and i was gona tell him but froze up.
