Blurred vision - July 6th 2024, 01:21 AM

I am T2 diabetic , and am on metformin . I’ve had blurred vision in my left eye for a few months now … it’s nothing major and I can see fine unless I cover my right eye with my hand then my vision in my left eye seems blurry but it isn’t in my right eye , I can still see out my left my eye even if it is a little blurry . I can see perfectly
Fine with both eyes normally. I had an diabetic eye test in January ( I was having the blurred vision in my left eye too then when I cover my right eye) and that all came back fine and normal. The person who did my eye test said it was normal to have one eye stronger than the other and it was probably that.
Anyways it seems worse when I’m tired . I take other medications too. And vitamins. I am due my annual diabetes check up . And I am going to mention to the nurse at the checkup but I’m kinda freaking out a little. Like in my head I’m like omg I am going blind in my left eye .
Has anyone else had similar , I’m freaking out about it a little bit .

I have a very long history of a lot of vision stuff wrong. It sounds like you've done everything right. If the professionals weren't concerned, and it hasn't gotten suddenly worse, with no other symptoms, you might just need glasses.

I agree with bringing it up to the nurse and maybe going for another eye exam, but you could need new glasses. People with glasses don’t normally have the same prescription in both eyes, one eye is normally stronger. Even with glasses my vision gets fuzzy when I’m tired too.

Re: Blurred vision - July 6th 2024, 10:35 PM

Thanks, yeah I’ve never needed glasses. Though I do remember my grandpa asking me when I was about 12 years old if I needed glasses because of how close my face was to the sheet of paper I was writing on but nothing ever really came of it. I’m definitely going to bring it up when I have my check up. I did try Google but it just gave me a list of serious illnesses it could be. I’m T2 diabetic and I know uncontrolled diabetes can cause vision issues but mines pretty well controlled.
