Pre period vomiting? - December 11th 2021, 10:45 PM

This thread has been labeled as triggering by the original poster or by a Moderator. Please take this into consideration before continuing to read.

Okay this might be a bit of a weird one. But I am like really hoping someone can help. Basically a few nights before I get my period I will get like the usual signs like discharge etc, grumpiness, craving junk/sweet things, and the pre period cramps, also every month I will wake up in the night a few nights before my period feeling hot, sweaty and with mouthfuls of vomit/puke. its horrid and leaves me running to the bathroom to spit up the vomit its not like I'm actually puking as in I've like got a sickness bug or anything, and I don't think its because I am over heating as I have a fan on at night, and its a monthly thing around the time I am due my period. does anyone else have this issue or know what I can do to make it better and so that it doesn't happen? Also I don't know if its like worth mentioning but the vomiting is worse on months where my period is heavier.

Re: Pre period vomiting? - December 15th 2021, 03:14 PM

Hello,

I am so sorry that you are having a hard time with this and hope that you will be okay soon and we are able to help you out with this. We can all feel different ways before or during this and it can be hard sometimes. I was able to find some articles on this that can help you out and hopefully you will start to feel better soon. They are, https://www.healthline.com/health/nausea-before-period , https://blog.bonsecours.com/healthy/...nd%20headaches and https://www.healthline.com/health/ni...-during-period When you have time if you would like to look at them and see what can help you out and hopefully you will start to feel a little bit better. When you are having a hard time with this try to find something to help you to feel better, watching a movie or TV show or grabbing a book to read for a while or drawing or painting or taking a bath or ginger candy or ginger tea or herbal tea or peppermint tea or something else that you enjoy doing or drinking. I wish you the best. Sending you to help.

Have you brought this up with your GP? Nausea/vomiting can sometimes be a symptom of endometriosis or other hormonal imbalances. It could also just be a symptom of PMS for you, but it would definitely be worth getting checked out.

Ginger would be worth trying - I drink lemon & ginger tea to help with the nausea or sometimes just grate ginger root into hot water.

I had it once a few years ago and I vomited before I got my period. However, once I did, I felt so much better.

The only thing I can suggest is speaking to your GP about it. They maybe able to help.

Thanks, it happened again this month... few days before my period arrived I felt sick and hot and threw up/vomitted. I've got Dr's tomorrow its an asthma check up but I will mention it to the nurse during the appointment...
