Had a seizure at work
I recently had a seizure at work out of nowhere. I remember feeling shaky and then the next thing I know, im in the back of an ambulance being taken to the hospital.
I was released after a few hours having a cat scan done, (waiting on the results) I have been in pain on my tongue for the past 5 days since my incident, turns out I managed to injure my tongue and it looks all chewed up on the edge near the back of my mouth. I've tried freezing it with Kanka, a paste used for freezing mouth sores, but it doesn't last up to 6 hours as it says. After 30 minutes it starts wearing off, and at the hour mark all pain has come back to my tongue. I know it being on my tongue it will take a while to heal, just curious if there's anything I can do to help eleveate the pain? |
Re: Had a seizure at work
Hi Jake!
I’m so sorry that you’re going through this. Biting your tongue is the worst, especially because it’s swollen and you continue to bite it! When I’ve bit my tongue I find icing it (popsicles work) do this several times a day. I also recommend rinsing your mouth with salt water after eating. If it doesn’t get better in a couple days I would recommend seeing your family doctor so they can have a better look at it. |

Hi Jake!
I'm so sorry to hear about what happened to you. It must of been really scary and an awful thing for you to experience. As Brittany. mentioned, maybe try eating something cold to help ease the pain a little bit and salt water might help. I hope you start to feel better soon. |
Re: Had a seizure at work
Thanks to both of you, rinsing with salt water and popsicles/ice cream helped me get through it. My tongue is now all healed and i can speak and eat without pain anymore.
