Testosterone and thyriods

I recently went to the labs to get tested for this stuff, and blood count and something about FSH. Mainly because I do have family history on Thyriods and my period is very irregular. Not sure exactly what all this stuff means. My results haven't come in yet but ill keep the thread updated.

I am not sure what all those things mean but I hope you are able to get the results soon. I know my brother and mom have thyroid problems and they are both required to take medication. They can have complications (not sure what) when they don't take the medication but when they stay up to date on the medication they seem fine.

Hello! Waiting for test results can be really scary, so I hope you've gotten your results back and that all is well.

We're in a similar situation - one of my parents has the Hashimoto disease. I'm in the middle of the procedure of being diagnosed as I have some symptoms of thyroid malfunctioning, probably a bit different than yours, though. What I've heard is that lots of people that have a thyroid disease actually get right results in blood tests (they've got right levels of some hormones because the body does everything to keep them so even if thyroid malfunctions). That's why you should have an ultrasound scan done, too - seems it works better to find out if anything's wrong.

My results came back. The only things that weren't normal (including nutritional stuff) was my testosterone and my cholesterol. My next step is an ultrasound since my periods have been absent. I'm being checked for PCOS

I would recommend you be careful with testosterone. It is very easy to disrupt the balance of hormones in the body and very difficult to fix it.
