Is this an eating disorder?
Ok, so I have kind of "gone off" eating. It's not because I want to be thinner or anything, I am just never hungry. I know that it has been getting worse over about 8 months, my parents have commented on it and I try to eat, I just really don't like to anymore. Because my dad is disorganised, at his house (divorced parents, I stay there for a week) I just never eat. I occasionally have a yoghurt or cereal or something (every two days usually) but I just have no apetite.
I know I have been having trouble (you can see other threads if you like) if that could have anything to do with it. Can anything be done? |
Re: Is this an eating disorder?
It doesn't really sound like one. To me it more sounds like nerves. Sometimes, you can lose your appetite when you're very stressed out, but it doens't really sound like an eating disorder to me.

Nobody here can diagnose you, but I wouldn't really call it an eating disorder. It's more than likely a medical condition, or possibly caused by stress. Force yourself to eat, because food is essential, so eat even if you're not hungry. Definitely go see a doctor because this is not healthy.

Re: Is this an eating disorder?
Loss of appetite is actually a symptom of so many things, so you really need to go see your doctor. Also, right now just ate 3-6 small meals a day, even if you are not hungry. I have a friend who never feels hungry and she has to force herself to eat sometimes, so you might have to do that same. But do go see your doctor, they are the only ones who can tell you whats wrong.

Hmm, I'll have to add this to the list of things I need to tell a doctor about...
I am scared of doctors :/ |
